šŸ¤– Apple’s AI fitness coach does more than you’d expect

PLUS: Meta, once again, is serious about AI

Wondering when Apple will actually announce an AI?

June would be the first opportunity.

June 5th is the first day of their worldwide developer’s conference.

Expect something then. Until then…just rumors.

šŸƒā€ā™€ļøApple looks to dominate fitness with AI

Waiting for Apple to announce their AI like

Look, we promise, Apple has AI ambitions. They have like two annual events where they announce products. So...you'll have to be patient.

The latest Apple AI rumors suggest they're working on something major.

They’re going to blow up the fitness industry.

How?

An AI-powered fitness coach.

The coach, nicknamed Quartz, will help you eat, sleep, and exercise better. It’ll use AI to analyze your fitness trends and help you stay on track with workout routines and diets.

You might be thinking…what a revolutionary idea. What’s the catch? Surely this will cost me an arm and a leg.

To answer that, yes. It’ll be available for a fee. Because it’s Apple.

Not only that, but you’ll have to use an Apple Watch.

This is, of course, unofficial. Apple could axe the whole thing. But…

The fitness app category is ripe for disruption.

šŸ‡®šŸ‡¹Italy unbans ChatGPT

Italy banned ChatGPT due to privacy concerns. We knew that.

Their privacy watchdog made a laundry list of requirements for ChatGPT and OpenAI.

  • Add age restrictions

  • Clarify how they use customer data

  • Provide data management options for users

  • Allow users to opt out of OpenAI training on their data

Do this, you’re open for business.

Well, it looks like OpenAI listened. ChatGPT is back in Italy. This week, they launched the ability for users to…remove their chat history, and opt out of training.

OpenAI didn't admit the list was why. They just said they had ā€œaddressed or clarified the issuesā€ raised by the watchdog.

So, happy ending.

Lesson learned? Move fast and break things doesn’t mix with GDPR compliance.

šŸš€ Meta has a plan to onboard the next billion users to AI

That plan? Not VR.

Speaking of moving fast and breaking things.

The original mover and breaker, Mark Zuckerburg, quadrupled down on Meta’s pivot from the metaverse to AI.

Here’s a massive block of text explaining what Meta’s strategy is.

ā€œWe’re exploring chat experiences in WhatsApp and Messenger, visual creation tools for posts in Facebook and Instagram and ads, and over time video and multi-modal experiences as well,ā€ Zuckerberg said on the earnings call. ā€œI expect that these tools will be valuable for everyone from regular people to creators to businesses. For example, I expect that a lot of interest in AI agents for business messaging and customer support will come once we nail that experience. Over time, this will extend to our work on the metaverse, too, where people will much more easily be able to create avatars, objects, worlds, and code to tie all of them together.ā€

Mark Zuckerburg during Meta’s most recent earnings call

TL;DR? We want to be the first place people use AI.

That last part is hilarious. ā€œDon’t worry, Metaverse! We haven’t forgotten about you!ā€

If we’re being realistic, there is huge AI potential for Meta. Google teased AI creator tools for ads. Meta has every right to do the same for their business suite. Instagram is a gold mine too.

So, while we’re clowning on Meta…we’re excited to see where they go.

And right now, they’re laughing to the bank. The stock is up almost 160% since its November low.
