The best places to find new AI tools
If you’re reading this, I know two things.
You pay taxes.
You’re more than a little interested in AI.
And if you’ve been following, you know I plug interesting AI tools every week at the bottom of the newsletter.
Thing is, there’s so many out there. Tools for writing. Reading. Sales. Marketing. Every job imaginable!
And even though we’re friends, I don’t know you quite well enough yet.
“Where are my AI tools for web3 plumbers??” You shout after every issue.
I hear you.
Today, we’ll go over the best places to find AI tools that are perfectly tailored to your needs.

Threads threads threads. More threads.
I’m not calling it X. It's Twitter.
Sure, there are 1000 threadbois plugging their “top 10 ChatGPT alternatives that will make your head explode”. That can get a little overwhelming.
But…ignoring Twitter is like driving blind. You're missing out on the most important source of information. New tools launch all the time on Twitter.
More important: the best builders are showing off their AI smarts on Twitter. Every time I open the app, I see a new way to use an AI tool.

Product Hunt
If you’re serious about AI, you should check Product Hunt every day.
The best part? You don’t have to do any hard work.
Just check the top products of the day, and see what AI tool interests you. They got categories, rankings, the whole deal.
Take today. Half of the top four are AI tools. Many are free.

It’s dumb how easy Product Hunt makes it.
And no, this isn’t sponsored. I just like the website. Can’t a guy like a website these days?

AI tools databases
I won’t lie.
These ones can get a little noisy.
It’s like googling “shoes” and looking through all 4.16 billion results. There are a LOT of AI tools, and some databases just dump every tool they can find. Leaving you to sift through it all, like a desperate junkyard diver.
Here are the best I’ve found. A few of them even use AI to help you find your AI tool. Too meta? Perhaps.

Company blogs
Some companies want to spend a ton of money.
Like, a truckfull of cash. For one purpose only.
To get more people to use AI tools.
Think about it. A company like Zapier (making APIs easier) would LOVE it if you started using AI tools. Maybe you’ll help one of their customers? Maybe you’ll build one of your own, using Zapier?
Point is, it’s in their best interest.
And so, they’ve put together a lil’ guide to the best ones.
Sure, they might say “and by the way use our tool please!!!” at the end. You're smart. You can see through that.

Nvidia is the official AI stock, and I can’t explain its price
DISCLAIMER: as always, this is not financial advice.
Look, I get it. Nvidia is CRUSHING lately.
They’re the darling of AI stocks, and for, ahem, good reason.
They power the entire AI revolution with their GPUs.
So now every Nvidia earnings call is just the word “AI" repeated for 150 pages. And it works.

Up over 200%. Come on.
I don’t want to look like an idiot in a year when the stock triples, but their P/E ratio is ONE HUNDRED AND SEVENTEEN. Apple and Microsoft hover around…30.
Every earnings report Nvidia puts out, it’s more good news, and the stock keeps climbing.
Let’s hope they keep smashing expectations.

RIP B2B GPT wrappers (so many acronyms god damn)
They warned us: OpenAI just killed a bunch of AI startups
The danger signs were everywhere.
And yet, we continued to build new AI startups that were just thin wrappers on GPT.
The danger being, of course, that OpenAI could just add new features to ChatGPT and, well, kill a startup.
That definitely happened today. ChatGPT for enterprise is a thing now.
Here’s the highlights.
It doesn’t train on your company’s data.
It’s SOC2 compliant, which my lawyer is saying is important.
It has unlimited access to GPT-4.
There are longer context windows, meaning you can send more data with more context.
Oh, and it can run code by itself using code interpreter.
So RIP to any startup that said “We use GPT but keep your data compliant, unlike OpenAI” or “We use GPT, but keep context on your data so it’s more useful”.
And OpenAI says 80% of the Fortune 500 is using GPT. So…they’re winning on distribution.
As we learned with Slack and Teams, distribution trumps product. Every time.
The dangers of building on another platform.
