👀 Why ChatGPT hid user prompt history

YIKES.

ChatGPT might have had a pretty big security incident.

It started when users across Hacker News and Twitter noticed something weird. Specifically, that they lost all their ChatGPT history.

Every prompt, conversation, and answer, gone. All of it.

One user took to the YC forums to complain, and another noticed that something was up.

A Reddit user posted saying that they had access to someone else’s ChatGPT account. As in, when they logged in, it gave them someone else’s prompt history.

Now, there’s no way to know if these two things are connected. But here’s what likely happened.

OpenAI noticed the Reddit user’s issue first. They went “oh no”, and then patched the issue which meant a lot of users lost chat history.

It was better than everyone seeing each other’s prompts.

Ouch.

You probably didn’t know this, but Salesforce has one big competitor for CRM.

It’s Hubspot. And they want in on AI, too.

Instead of inking a huge contract with OpenAI, their CTO did something different.

He integrated it himself.

As a weekend side project.

Pure unadulterated hacker.

ChatSpot is a lot like Salesforce’s ChatGPT feature. You can query all your customer data and get intelligent responses from ChatGPT.

It also has some slick generative AI image capabilities, if you’re into that.
