šŸ¤– Elon Musk is 100% starting a new AI company

PLUS: AI-generated hands are fixed?

A few banger stories for you today.

Our personal favorite is the first one, but…

You should read all three.

āœ‹ SDXL loses the extra fingers on AI hands

You be the judge! Source: TechCrunch

Raise your seven-fingered-hand if you think generative AI still has some kinks to work out.

Stability AI agrees.

Good news? They’ve released Stable Diffusion XL, their latest generative AI model for images. And they claim it solves the hand problem.

We’re not convinced. And of course, their press release only has perfect pictures. Thankfully, TechCrunch gave it a try, and it looks…better? Not perfect.

They also claim it’s better at generating text, and…we’ll let you be the judge.

Other improvements include image-to-image generation. Throw an image in, get AI variations back. You also don’t need to write a 500-word prompt essay to get a descriptive image.

Great new features. AND it’s open source. Admirable progress.

šŸ¤“ Adobe adds a sprinkle of AI to Premiere Pro

Adobe apps like Premiere Pro and After Effects are the backbone of the creative industry.

Adobe also likes money. And these days, if you want money, you need to add some AI.

You can guess what's next.

They announced a new AI feature for Premiere Pro that saves creators’ time.

Instead of spending hours scrubbing through footage for the right sound bites, let AI do it. Adobe’s AI transcribes the entire video. Search the video by text, and add clips to your timeline without cutting and copying a thousand times.

Every company will do this. Add an AI layer to their flagship money-maker. Any startup that was building this is now dead.

The question, and opportunity, comes next. How does the job change when creators no longer have to do this?

Those effects are what will define the next wave of AI growth.

šŸ‘€ Elon Musk is 100% working on an OpenAI competitor

It’s official, to the surprise of no one.

Elon Musk wants blood. OpenAI’s blood.

How do we know?

Last month he incorporated a new company in Nevada called X.AI. How he named his company better than his kids is a mystery.

It’s an open secret that he’s recruited AI talent from his other companies like SpaceX and Tesla.

He also discretely bought GPUs from Nvidia.

So…a new AI company starts, and he buys GPUs and sources AI talent from his companies.

It’s safe to say he’s starting something new.

6-month AI ban for thee, but not for me?
