👀 Snapchat bets big with OpenAI
Big moment for OpenAI - it reached the elusive zoomer crowd.
Specifically, Snapchat. They bought the hype on AI.
They announced a chatbot integration, built on ChatGPT.
It’s part of Snapchat’s premium tier, which costs $3.99 a month.

Okay, what does it DO?
Things like write Haikus, play games, or write a recipe. It can even recommend birthday gifts for your other Snapchat friends.
That’s not the interesting part though.
Snapchat, in its own press release, admitted they know everyone hacks AI chatbots.
“As with all AI-powered chatbots, My AI is prone to hallucination and can be tricked into saying just about anything.”
Instead of skirting around the issue, Snapchat is coming out and saying it.
The AI will get hacked, you’ll get funny answers, just prepare for it okay?
This is a brilliant growth hack for Snapchat. Everyone wants to try a chatbot, but each one has its own drawbacks.
Censorship limits ChatGPT, and BingAI is still invite-only.
By opening up access to ChatGPT through their app, they’re onboarding tons of customers.
Big question is: will this allow students to skirt ChatGPT’s ban?
And also: will Facebook copy them? By announcing a restructuring?
🙄 It took 0.007 hours for Meta to copy Snap
Well, that was fast.
Meta announced they’re forming a special AI tools and personas division.
The division will focus on developing AI personas for Meta products. Products like Instagram and WhatsApp.
We'll just come out and say it. We know they didn’t exactly copy Snap. They're seeing the hype behind generative AI chatbots.

Can’t wait to see this in 18-24 months.
This is no surprise, as Meta is so reactionary when it comes to new features outside of VR.
There's a ton of ways Meta could integrate this into their products. We'll wait and see.
The only thing more Meta than this will be the inevitable "shutdown and restructuring" announcement in 1-2 years.

What made them both hit send on the wire transfer?
Well, Typeface is another generative AI startup.
They’re focused on generating content for enterprises.
Think blog posts, social media copy, job postings, and product shots.
B2B is king when it comes to the next wave of AI. The mission is simple. Make it easier to integrate AI into large companies, and enjoy your riches.
As always, we are bullish on startups that can solve for this.
