Happy Friday.
What a week of AI, huh?
We’re not even done covering it all.

👀 A virtual assistant for everything on your computer

Jeeves, fetch me the AI. Source: Adept
You need an AI assistant for browsing your computer.
At least, according to Adept AI.
Ambitious, we know.
Also realistic. They managed to raise $350m at an over $1b valuation. From companies like Atlassian and Microsoft.
But why the buzz?
Adept AI is working on something you would actually use every day.
Take booking a flight. Adept says their model should be able to do that for you, if you tell it to do so. It acts as a virtual overlay over your computer screen, so you can call it anytime.
This could be the perfect personal AI assistant. Every multitasking thread you’ve got during your workday can spawn a task for Adept.
That’s why all the big corporations want in.
🤓 Let AI teach you German, or Cantonese, or…anything

The Duolingo owl isn’t asking anymore.
You’re gonna learn French, and their AI is gonna help you.
Duolingo announced a new super premium tier above their top paid tier. It's literally just their top tier + AI.
How does AI help you learn Spanish before your trip to Tulum?
Two ways.
“Explain my answer” - If you get an answer wrong and you just aren’t sure why, AI has you covered. Or even if you get it right. Duolingo AI will explain the answer.
“Roleplay” - No, not that kind. Want some practice outside of the lessons? Roleplay ordering coffee, discussing vacation plans, or shopping with a generative AI companion.
Duolingo made it a point to say these are GUIDED conversations. You know, to avoid getting the AI to say things it's not supposed to.
The conversation is AI-generated, so it’ll be different each time.
At $30 a month, though…we might stick to the owl.
Stripe 🤝 OpenAI

Fancy. Source: Stripe
Stripe and OpenAI got married this week. The wedding was gorgeous, and Microsoft caught the flowers.
Really, though, OpenAI announced that Stripe is powering everything finance-related for ChatGPT. Stripe announced that yawn GPT-4 is now powering their AI doc generation. Bo-ring.
OpenAI said that Stripe is building other tools on GPT-4, so take that for what it’s worth.
And also, Stripe Atlas customers get a ton of free GPT-4 credits.
Still, it feels like every single company is feeding their documentation through GPT.
What new behaviors will that trigger?
And will GPT-4 allow Stripe to recover from their down round?

GPT-4 + Replit.
Building simple tools has never been easier.
With GPT-4 + Replit we built a logo finder tool in under 2 minutes.
All it took was a single prompt and clicking run.
