Itās mind-blowing.

𤯠An AI that lives its own life?

Source: Generative Agents
Researchers from Stanford and Google ran an experiment.
What happens if you let AIs run their own lives?
They created a game inspired by the SIMs, and gave the LLM three main components.
The memory stream, which records all the agentās experiences
The reflection, which turns memories into data points
The planning, which combines the previous two components into action plans.
The researchers would then take over as the individualās āinner voiceā and give it commands.
āFor instance, when told āYou are going to run against Sam in the upcoming electionā by a user as Johnās inner voice, John decides to run in the election and shares his candidacy with his wife and son.ā
Wild.
Where do we go from here?
Picture a video game every non-playable character is running on this system. Every single game would be different.

š Meta has a release date for its generative AI

Are we?
Meta's ready for the big leagues. CTO Andrew Bosworth says it will have its own generative AI before the end of the year.
It will transform two key areas of their business: ads and the metaverse.
Yeah, theyāre still not over the metaverse.
For ads, theyāre picturing a generative AI that can create assets for your brand campaigns. Give it a few words and your company logo, and receiving beautiful ads in your companyās design language.
For the metaverse, Iāll let Bosworth explain:
"So previously," Bosworth said, "if I wanted to create a 3D world, I needed to learn a lot of computer graphics and programming. In the future, you might be able to just describe the world you want to create and have the large language model generate that world for you. And so it makes things like content creation much more accessible to more people."
It's simple. They need money from two areas: ads and the Metaverse.
AI might, at least, please the shareholders.
š¬ AI takes another job!

Weāve got another newscaster who doesnāt actually exist.
Thanks to AI, of course. This time in Kuwait.
Fedha is the latest newscaster for the Kuwait News. Sheās a nondescript woman. In this video, you can watch her talk - itās not the most convincing performance.
She talks like those Elon Musk or Joe Rogan deepfakes.
Look. Weāre at the point where this isnāt new.
But when people warn of AI taking jobs, wellā¦this is what theyāre talking about.
Here, itās more additive than zero-sum. This newscaster is not taking the job of someone else.
In a call center? It could be a different story.
