Happy Sunday, everyone.
We got MORE AI NEWS for you.

🤯 Generative image AI gets a massive upgrade

Generative AI is all the buzz lately, and Midjourney leads the charge on generative image AI. When it comes to ease of access and quality of output, they’re the best.
They’re about to get even better.
Thanks to an announcement on the official Midjourney Discord, we know they’re ready to begin their next version’s rollout. They start by asking the community to rate V5’s images and quality, so they know what makes an image “better” than V4.

The level of quality these applications are approaching is quite impressive.
Generative AI is beginning to hit its stride.
👀 Microsoft teases big upgrades to ChatGPT with GPT-4

Microsoft announced that they’ll unveil GPT-4 this week.
Why is that such big news?
GPT-4 will be multimodal. That means that tech that uses GPT (Like ChatGPT) will be able to move beyond text.
It’s text-to-images, text-to-video, even text-to-music.
Microsoft’s example was a call center translating a phone call to a text summary.
We’re thinking bigger.
Text-to-video would be a monumental achievement if it’s done on the level of ChatGPT. Meta tried it, but using Dall-e, which is a more rudimentary generative AI service.
All eyes on Microsoft this week.
🚀 CFOs rejoice! AI comes to Brex

Time for old-school stodgy CFOs to start using generative AI and ChatGPT.
Thanks to Brex.
Brex is part of a new wave of corporate expense management, targeted at startups. Most solutions offered by legacy banks suck.
Now, Brex wants to give these finance teams “complex, AI-powered insights”. Stuff like spending trends, outliers, and benchmarks against other companies. Anything spending-related.
One advantage they cited is ChatGPT’s natural language capabilities. It’s easy to make data seem complicated, and ChatGPT can make it far more digestible.
What’s curious is that this partnership is via Scale AI, another huge AI data platform startup. Scale AI is also poised to enjoy the AI boom.
Any way AI can make numbers easier is a win in our book.

Concerning stuff from Snap AI.
The AI race is totally out of control. Here’s what Snap’s AI told @aza when he signed up as a 13 year old girl.
- How to lie to her parents about a trip with a 31 yo man
- How to make losing her virginity on her 13th bday special (candles and music)Our kids are not a test lab.

Use ChatGPT to generate ideas.
I needed an example for an upcoming workshop on AI, of AI summarizing & allowing the user to interrogate text ... so I used @its@itsandrewgaoibleGPT
Here are the verses it recommends for dealing with my fictional coworker Jim who never finished his part of the presentation

…and use ChatGPT to generate prompts.
day 3 of dream window: the prompts are now engineered by chatGPT allowing input in any language that is understood by Whisper + gpt3.5 turbo, and the chatgpt bot has been taught to engineer excellent prompts for images 😄
