🚀 Another big Microsoft AI announcement

Source: The Verge
Microsoft wants you to know it’s going all-in on AI.
They’re holding a Future of work AI event next week to discuss…whatever that title means. We can guess.
Rumor has it Microsoft is pushing ChatGPT into two key products: Outlook and Word. They’ll both be using Microsoft’s Prometheus model, based on OpenAI’s tech.
Word will use Prometheus in the same way everyone uses ChatGPT; to generate ideas for you. Like generating a draft for a resignation letter.
With Outlook, it’s revolutionary. They’re going to use OpenAI to give Outlook a search function that actually works.
Who knows for sure, though.
Bottom line: Microsoft is going all gas no brakes on AI.

Well, that was fast.
OpenAI announced the ChatGPT API on Wednesday. By Sunday a 24-hour hackathon for it happened.
What did people build?
Chatbots. Lots of chatbots. 40% of all entries.
The main question from the judges was “What are you doing about hallucinations?” which is the new “What if Facebook builds this?”
For those unaware: hallucinations in AI are “confidently incorrect” answers that it gives.
Here’s a cool thread of some creations. Highlights include code generation, a humanitarian hotline, and a Jackbox-style game.
A successful first week for ChatGPT’s API.
Let’s hope it continues.
😎 How did Slack add ChatGPT before Teams, honestly?

Source: Slack
We keep telling y’all. Big companies are going to adopt AI tools like mad.
Case in point: Slack. They announced a ChatGPT bot.
Are they trying to convince Salesforce they were worth the $28b acquisition?
Maybe...
Here’s what the ChatGPT bot can do:
Summaries - too important to read through every conversation? ChatGPT can summarize it for you.
Side research - want to do some research before you jump in a conversation? ChatGPT’s got your back.
Drafts - want to look smart and craft a product proposal with ease? ChatGPT will help you start.
Is it a selling point for executives who want to look smart? Or something that will bring actual value to employees?
Guess we’ll find out.
