It happened, everyone.
It’s a new day in AI.
OpenAI released their API for ChatGPT. That means any developer on the planet can build on ChatGPT.
Best part? They reduced costs by 90%. It works out to about $2 for 750,000 words.
Incredible.
They’ve already got Shopify, Instacart, and Snap as customers.
Even more crazy?
They ALSO released their speech-to-text API.
Even MORE crazy?
They aren’t using the API data for training data.
Devs are already going WILD building on this.
Expect a wave of announcements over the next year.

Wow! Just like that, it’s one of OpenAI’s first official customers on ChatGPT.
Shopify’s Shop app already has ChatGPT integration.
It’s slick. Just open the app and activate the AI assistant. It'll help with all questions shopping-related.
Anything from help decorating a living room to learning how to make soaps.
You describe the situation and its AI will help find products on the Shop app that fit your needs.
It’s like a virtual concierge.
The concept is nothing new. ChatGPT’s ability to parse wording and understand intent make it a game-changer.
Interesting how the announcement says the app is “ready to talk trends”, while ChatGPT’s training data cuts off in 2021…
👀 Microsoft adds visuals to conversational AI

Microsoft is done with that baby generative AI stuff.
They’re gearing up for the next generation of AI problem solving.
They released a paper outlining their new multimodal language model. It shows some serious promise in visual recognition.
What can it DO?
It can solve visual puzzles and solve for visual language recognition.
It can even understand images and context behind them.
Something that is notoriously hard to crack in AI.
In the paper, the model can answer a visual IQ test and write captions for an image. It can also solve some visual puzzles that are too confusing for even me.
While this may seem rudimentary, it’s a promising advancement in visual AI.

The points were so legit that my friend felt that it was a real lawyer who drafted them.
