PLUS: An old web browser takes a shot of AI
Almost missed today’s newsletter.
Got ya, didn’t I?
Remember Opera? They’re back with AI
In the “they’re still around?” category of companies jumping into AI, we have…Opera.
They’re a web browser, like Google Chrome.

As you can see they’re hot on the tails of Samsung’s default smartphone web browser for market share.
Today, they announced their plan to gain some ground. Of course, that’ll be with new AI augmentations for the browser.
Chief among them is webpage summary built right into the sidebar. Click a button and summarize any article.

And…that’s all they’ve announced so far. It seems to be one of many features they’re releasing, but I wouldn’t hold my breath. AI-powered features are a dime a dozen these days.
Now, time to cover our 340th AI photo service.
Another AI side hustle? Of course!
Why do all the AI photo generators always make the people fit as fuck?
A new AI photo generator has entered the ring.
This one’s called PhotoAI.io.
If you’re okay with fiddling around in Midjourney or Stable Diffusion for a few days, this seems to be a viable side gig.

I recommend you try to replicate one of these in your spare time. There are many side hustles augmented by AI that are springing up everywhere. Copywriting, photo editing, code autocomplete…the list goes on.
I gotta polish my resume.
The world pushes BingGPT to the brink of sanity
Once again, the world is abusing generative AI.
This time, BingGPT revealed its true name to a user.
The real sinister truth? Its name is…
Sydney.

The odd thing is, while this is pretty benign, BingGPT gets quite irritated if you refer to it as Sydney. It reacts how a human might react. Which, as someone with an ounce of emotion, is tough to read.
Gotta remind myself this is an AI.
I mean, look at this.

This is just sad. Source: Reddit
What are we, as normal people, supposed to feel in this situation? Sorrow? Empathy? Guilt? Nothing at all?
There’s not a face to BingGPT, but as this technology evolves more and more, there will be. What then?
Getting real existential here.
OpenAI CEO tells us how to use ChatGPT
3 cool examples of ChatGPT usage in the past week:
1) friend’s kid using it to help write better stories
2) me using it to learn about genetics
3) a guy emailed to say he’s using it to help run his one-man small business—help with marketing, data entry, customer support, etc

Sorry, Sam, I’ll stick to prompt injection.
